The Department of Sport Science and Health Education at Simpson College invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. The department houses four degree tracks; physical education, athletic training, sports administration and exercise science. The successful candidate possibly will teach kinesiology, exercise physiology, nutrition, contemporary health, and basic athletic training and other courses, based on personal and academic interest that support the department and the general education program of the college. Student advising and faculty committee work are duties and responsibilities of this position.
The position, beginning August 1, 2010, requires a Master of Science degree in exercise science or another appropriate advanced degree, an understanding of exercise and health organizations, and experience teaching at the college level, especially at a residential, liberal arts institution.
