Director of Print Communication

Simpson College invites applications for the position of Director of Print Communication. The director is responsible for writing and coordinating the successful and timely production of print communications; as well as collaborating with others in the Office of Marketing and Public Relations to ensure the quality and effectiveness of these communications, which support student recruitment, fundraising, and other college goals.

 Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Coordinate the planning, content, timeline, and successful production of print materials and ensure the timely production, quality, and effectiveness of all college print pieces;
  • Writing outstanding copy and editing the writing of others;  
  • In coordination with the Alumni Office, develop strategic focus for the alumni magazine, which is the college's main communication tool with its alumni;  
  • Working with others in the office, integrate the content of print materials across all communication platforms (print, web, email, media relations, etc.).

The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual who has an understanding of integrated marketing and communications, and has the demonstrated ability to plan and produce effective communication material.

Qualified applicants will have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in related field; have three years experience in print production (magazine production desirable); possess exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communications skills; have demonstrated success in an integrative communication environment (print and electronic); and have the ability to think strategically, provide collaborative, and consultative guidance to marketing team.   

This is a full-time position, with occasional non-routine hours in order to achieve successfully the goals and objectives of the position.
