Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice

Simpson College, a private, nationally-recognized regional college grounded in the liberal arts tradition and affiliated with the United Methodist Church, invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice (rank dependent on qualifications).  This is a three-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal.

The Ph.D. or ABD in the sociology of deviant behavior, criminology or criminal justice or a related field is strongly preferred. ABD applicants must complete their degree work by summer 2009.  Responsibilities include teaching in both the undergraduate major and newly created Master of Arts degree programs in criminal justice and participation in the general education programs of the College.  Applicants must be able to teach the Justice System Statistics and the Seminar in Justice System Decision Making and Policy Implementation classes in the M.A. program.

Preference will be given to those that have work experience in the criminal justice field.  Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin September 2008 and continue until the position is filled.
