Assistant Professor of Economics

Simpson College, a private, nationally recognized regional college grounded in the liberal arts tradition and affiliated with the United Methodist Church, invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting for a tenure-track position beginning August 15, 2010. Applicants must have CPA along with a Ph.D. or Masters in Accounting, Masters in Business Administration or a Juris Doctor.

The candidate will teach in a variety of areas, including financial accounting, management accounting and government accounting. As part of the regular teaching load, the candidate will occasionally teach in the Simpson Seminar. Simpson College encourages innovative teaching and seeks colleagues who will help its students of all ages develop critical intellectual skills, and nurture values which foster personal worth and individuality for the purpose of living lives of leadership within a creative, diverse, and just community. Candidates for the position must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and a willingness to engage students in scholarship, research and/or creative work.
