Internships & Graduate Schools

We are often unable to quantify an experience without the aid of distance. The four years since my graduation from Simpson College have allowed me to gain a certain perspective on my time as a student in Indianola. A glance into most classrooms on campus illustrates a valuable, Megan Stoutirreplaceable element of the Simpson experience: effective faculty and student interaction. Some of my high school classmates who chose to attend larger institutions often complained in later years about the lack of contact between themselves and their professors. Simpson’s faculty/student ratio allows for meaningful communication and, ultimately, real efficacy in terms of charting post-graduation goals. My life after May 2004 -- two years in the Peace Corps and, currently, graduate school for history at Loyola University Chicago -- developed directly out of the opportunities I encountered at Simpson College.
