Simpson is preparing in many ways for the possibility of an H1N1 flu outbreak. The recommendations on this web page should help you continue teaching, and your students continue learning, if class attendance ever is medically discouraged for you or many of your students.
The most important steps are to:
- Consider ways to help students continue course work if they cannot attend class, being flexible while ensuring the integrity of your course objectives;
- Prepare to, and explain how you will, communicate with students if they (or you) cannot attend multiple class sessions due to illness;
- Plan for the possibility of remote online access to course materials, assignments, resources, and student interactions;
- Familiarize yourself with College resources that might assist you and your students if a serious flu outbreak occurs.
