Embedded Skills Conference Opportunities
Embedded Skills Conference Travel Fund
May 2011 – August 2012
Purpose
To enhance the teaching of embedded skills, the Faculty Development Committee has set aside a limited amount of money for faculty to attend conferences, workshops, or webinars scheduled between May 2011 and August 2012. Faculty who utilize these funds will be asked to share what they learned with the rest of the college community.
Applications (click on applications for copy of form)
Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Each award will be for up to $1,500. The funding is to be used for attendance at a conference related to the teaching of one or more of the embedded skills. Faculty must provide the College with expense receipts up to the amount granted.
Reporting Expectations
A summary of what was learned at the conference is due within 2 weeks of the conference. At that time, the faculty member should discuss with the director of faculty development ways of sharing what was learned with the rest of the campus community. Possibilities include, but are not limited to, offering an interactive workshop or creating Camtasia presentations.
Eligibility
All tenure track and tenured faculty members are eligible to apply. Previous recipients of RSC, Diversity, or Course Development and Enhancement grants will only be considered only if all their receipts and their final report have been submitted. Current recipients of these grants (i.e., people who received any of these grants for the 2011-2012 academic year) are eligible.
