Admission to the MACJ program at Simpson College
In order to receive the MACJ degree from Simpson College, a student must complete all application procedures and be officially accepted by the college. The Academic Advisor is available to assist you in completing this process in the Ankeny campus. Contact Craig Peck at 515-965-9355 with any questions.
What is required for admission?
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a major in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, social work, political science, or economics. For other majors, remedial coursework may be required to satisfy pre-requisites.
- Complete the graduate application for admission.
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Forms for ordering transcripts are available through the MACJ advisor or on our website. For help with contacting colleges, see how to order your transcripts.
- Provide 3 letters of recommendation and a current resume.
- Meet with MACJ academic advisor.
- Complete the MACJ graduate admissions essay.
- Complete FAFSA if applicable.
When a student is accepted by the MACJ admissions committee, he/she will be classified as a degree candidate upon payment of a one-time $75 matriculation fee and enrollment in the upcoming session.
Acceptance as a degree candidate confirms a student's requirements for graduation as described in the catalog in effect when admitted. Official admission to the college is needed for most state and federal financial aid.
