Names of those student members who have joined Epsilon Sigma since 1970 are inscribed on large plaques in Dunn Library. In order to recognize academic excellence at Simpson College and to call attention to the names of all its scholars, Epsilon Sigma periodically publishes a roster of members. The 1999 edition of the directory was prepared for the 75th Anniversary of Epsilon Sigma. Five notebooks serve as the 'hard copy’ for this information, and they are available from Dunn Library's archives and the Academic Dean's office.

The membership list of this Directory departs from the format of previous editions by grouping the names of students, alumni and faculty under the heading of the year in which they were inducted. This list begins with the names of those inducted in 1999, and proceeds back in time to 1924. As new members are added each year, additional pages may be added in the front of the membership list.

Key to Member Lists

('29) – The year the member graduated from Simpson College if the member was not inducted the year he or she graduated.

'48 – The year the member was inducted into Epsilon Sigma.

S – The member was inducted as a student.

A – The member was inducted as an alumnus.

F – The member was inducted as a faculty.

* – The member is deceased.

** – The member also became a faculty at Simpson College.

PBK – The member was inducted to Epsilon Sigma because of membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

Since 1932 it has been customary to elect outstanding alumni 15 years after graduation.  Prior to that time the 15-year criteria was not strictly applied.
