HOW DO I DO THE 3K1 INDICATOR FOR CONTENT KNOWLEDGE?

Competency Indicator 3K1 asks you to "demonstrate knowledge of subject matter content." You should include the following items to demonstrate this particular indicator:

a)      A copy of your transcript.

b)      Your analysis of the transcript. Make a separate list of all courses in each core area and endorsement area subject matter and list grades next to each course (grades must be a C- or better).

a.       For elementary education students, make a list of courses that represent content area knowledge in the core areas: math, science, social studies, and language arts. If you have additional endorsement(s) representing other content areas (i.e., Spanish or Art), make a list of courses for these areas as well.

b.      For secondary education students, make a list of courses for each endorsement area you are seeking.

c)      Your cumulative GPA.

d)      C-Base Test scores.

e)      Optional documents may include a unit of study you planned, assignment artifacts from courses in your content area, a Teacher Work Sample, etc.
