The climate is shifting and has the potential to fundamentally alter civilization. These alterations are and will be overwhelmingly negative. Knowing how to prevent climate change and its consequences is Simple. Acting on that knowledge, however, is not. It's a sacrifice. It's expensive. It's an inconvenience. And most of all, it demands that people reshape our society. We are under a moral obligation to protect and sustain the biotic community. Thus far, we have failed miserably. The call and obligation is no longer for moral decency, but for self preservation.
It is the goal of Simpson’s Earth Corps program to make its students aware of their responsibility to themselves, to humanity and most importantly, to the environment. This awareness cannot help but to inspire and demand action. Simpson’s Earth Corps program will train students to be informed and passionate leaders in the massive mobilization needed to stabilize the climate, heal the planet and help humans adapt to the new global reality.
