Using Dunn Library
Part-time students may take advantage of all library and computer resources and services.
The library has a wide variety of useful databases and web resources available online. Access to these electronic resources can be made through Research Sources. A Simpson ID is necessary to access many online resources from off-campus. Questions about searching the electronic resources at Dunn can be submitted to Ask a Librarian.
The library and computer labs are open days, evenings and weekends. A computer lab is available in the West Des Moines office; contact 515-223-8842 for lab hours. For more information call 515-961-1663 (Library) or 515-961-1554 (Computer Lab).
Academic Advising
Advisors are available days and evenings in both offices of the Division of Adult Learning. Feel free to call Andrea Biklen in West Des Moines (515-961-1882), Craig Peck in Ankeny ( 515-965-9355) or Jennifer Hart in Indianola (515) 961-1692 to ask any questions or to schedule an appointment.
Computer Account
A free e-mail account is provided to all students enrolled through the Division of Adult Learning. For help with establishing your free e-mail account, please contact Information Services at (515) 961-1885. You will need to reach this e-mail account using your own Internet service provider or a computer on the campus network via our home page. Just click on the "WebMail" link.
Accessing StormFront
All students can use StormFront to access their grades and their course schedule. Your username will be "first name.last name". This site also allows you to search for classes as a guest.
Food Service on Campus
Indianola evening students may eat in Pfeiffer Dining Hall from 5:15-6:30 p.m., where a large selection of food is available at reasonable prices.
The Storm Street Grill (515-961-1539) is located in the Brenton Student Center and offers grilled sandwiches, chef salads, and snacks. It is open 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Publications
Special publication for adult students: The Adult Learning Memo, an information source for adult students, is passed around in class and includes upcoming deadlines, events, and general announcements.
