Simpson College Scholarships

Each year, Simpson College awards scholarships for adult students who demonstrate high scholastic achievement, leadership ability, and financial need, and who are enrolled in evening, Saturday, FASTrack or day courses at Simpson College. Any part-time degree seeking student interested in applying for a scholarship can obtain more information from the Division of Adult Learning in West Des Moines, Indianola, and Ankeny. The deadlines for application are August 1 for the fall semester and November 30 for the spring semester.


Executive Women International


(EWI) Des Moines Chapter is offering assistance to adults in the community who are in transitional situations and are in need of financial aid to further their education in their career pursuit. The recipients may select the career path of choice and any assistance received is considered an award, not requiring repayment.
Applications are screened and then anonymously voted on by EWI Des Moines Chapter members.

The criteria to be used to pre-screen the candidates may include one or more of the following:


Financial need
Head of household with small children
At risk adult
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Utilize personal assessment and/or re-entry programs available through colleges, community agencies, service groups, or career professionals
Clearly define career goals and objectives
Specify the education requirements to attain above goals and objectives
Provide recent tax return

Executive Women International (EWI) is a professional business organization that brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement. EWI has chapters in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Mexico, comprising of 82 chapters. The Des Moines Chapter has 46 companies as members.

 United Methodist Scholarships

The office of financial assistance has several scholarships available through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry through the Untied Methodist Church. There are many scholarships at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In general, an applicant must meet all of the following requirements to be considered:

  • Be an active member of the United Methodist Church
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Be enrolled in a full-time degree program

Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 (some programs require higher)
