Teaching seen as a great opportunity for working adults
WASHINGTON (AP) -- More teachers, it seems, are ready to leave their schools behind. Forty percent of public school teachers plan to exit the profession within five years, the highest rate since at least 1990, according to a study being released Thursday. The rate is expected to be even greater among high school teachers, half of whom plan to be out of teaching by 2010, according to the National Center for Education Information. from the New York Times 8/17/05
Simpson College has been known for quality education for more than 140 years. The Simpson College Teacher Education program is noted for its excellence in preparing teachers for the classroom.
"Simpson College gave me the opportunity to get my MAT with evening courses that easily fit into my schedule...the professors maintained a superior level of relevance and rigor that challenged me and prepared me to enter the teaching profession. I value both the education I gained and the professors I encountered during my time at Simpson."
