Elective options
Students will propose a program of study from among the available elective courses based upon their professional interest. A program of study that provides coherence will be approved by the department. Course schedules of elective courses will be developed from the approved programs of study. 8 new graduate only elective courses are proposed. 12 existing Simpson curricular offerings would be developed as cross-enrolled graduate electives in the program. So that the student backgrounds are more similar, these cross-enrolled course sections will be available in West Des Moines and Ankeny. Graduate course enrollees will be required to do considerably more reading, writing and theoretical analysis in written assignments than is true for those enrolled as undergraduates in cross-enrolled courses. For all 500 level enrollments, graduate standing is required.
