Scholarships
What is the difference between a job and a vocation? What should I do with my life? How can I best use my gifts? Who can serve as my mentor as I search for a meaningful life? How can I integrate my sense of spirituality into my daily life? Do I have what it takes to minister others? We hope the following scholarship opportunities will help you to wrestle with these vocational questions.

Wesley Service Scholars - Wesley Service Scholars supports students who are involved in volunteer service. If you are already volunteering in a service agency (a school, sports program, non-profit agency, church, etc.) and would like to do some reflection with other students about your service, then the Wesley Service Scholar program is for you! If you are not currently volunteering but would like to, we can provide a list of potential service sites. We offer a $500 stipend through your financial aid account in exchange for:
- 80 hours of verified service (~40 each semester)
- Selected common readings regarding service
- Your participation in a peer group to reflect on your experiences
- A simple journal in which you write about your service.

Lilly Intern Scholarship Program - The Lilly Intern Scholarship Program is a structured program to support students who are engaged in an internship of supervised work/service that equals 120 hours during a semester.
The Lilly internship stipend, awarded on a semester basis, provides $1,000 through your financial aid account. Lilly interns will:
- participate in an internship group,
- keep a journal related to their work, and
- meet regularly with their site mentor/supervisor.
Lilly Summer Intern Scholarship Program - Summer internships involve 8 weeks of full-time work/service in a variety of settings. Interns work closely with a mentor/supervisor and will also write about their experiences, as well as participate in orientation and a reflection group sponsored by the CVIL office.

Ministry Intern Scholarship Program - Five Simpson students will have the opportunity each year to participate in a semester-long or summer internship focused in a ministry setting such as a church or church-related agency, with a ministry professional as a mentor/supervisor. The types of work performed will vary according to the needs and interests of the student and the site.
