Tracy Lucht holds a Ph.D. from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland and has worked for USA Today, the Washington Post, the Des Moines Register and the Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune. She continues to work on projects for Meredith Corp. as a freelance copy editor. She received her M.S. and B.A. in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University and recently moved back to the Midwest after six years in the Washington, D.C., area. Her dissertation about personal-finance columnist Sylvia Porter has been recognized for excellence in doctoral research by the American Journalism Historians Association. Her research interests include media history, gender and the media, and multimedia journalism.
