Steven E. Chappell

Steven ChappellSteven has been a journalism educator and adviser to college student media since 1993, and a professional journalist since 1985. He was won numerous writing, editing, teaching and advising awards, including being named the Distinguished Four-Year College Newspaper Adviser in 2005 by College Media Advisers as the nation's most outstanding adviser to college newspapers at four-year colleges. He is also active in several college media organizations. He most recently served as vice president and contest coordinator for the Southeast Journalism Convention. He presently works as convention technology coordinator for College Media Advisers, where he oversees all on-site technology for the National College Media Convention every fall and the Spring National Media Convention every March in New York. He advises The Simpsonian, KSTM 88.9-FM and Simpson's new student-life magazine, in addition to teaching journalism classes.

Steven moved to Indianola in August of 2010 from Murfreesboro, Tenn., with his wife and son. He is constantly searching for a restaurant that actually understands the meaning of the words "hot and spicy."
