The Department of Chemistry and Physics offers a diverse curriculum which
provides students with an understanding of the chemical and physical nature of
the world around them. Introductory courses provide both science majors and
liberal arts students with the basic knowledge and critical thinking skills
needed to become informed citizens. Intermediate and advanced courses provide
students with the firm foundation in chemical and physical principles needed
for advanced study, or for employment in fields related to the major. The
department supports an active research program involving students in which
participation is encouraged.
