Faculty Information

We welcome Simpson College teaching faculty to become partners with Career Services, a division of the Center for Vocation and Integrative Learning (CVIL), in helping students realize their life goals! We  know you play a crucial role in helping students get a sound start in the professional world. Career Services provides support to students as they explore options for service, internships, full-time employment, and graduate school. We also counsel students who want additional assistance in focusing on  a vocation and charting a career path. Below are some of the services we can provide your students. We invite you to suggest ways we can improve our services and our web presence.

Concerned About A Student?

Referrals can now be made to the office of Career Services via the online Adequate Warning And Referral (AWAR) system. If you have concerns of any nature that you feel need to be communicated to our office, you may click AWAR to access the form. Once the referral has been received by our office one of our staff will contact your with a confirmation.

Each year CS sponsors a Career and Graduate School Fair to give our students the opportunity to speak one-on-one with prospective employers and grad school representatives.  We encourage faculty to attend and help develop a relationship between Simpson College and prospective employers of our students.

Will you be an Absent Professor?

You're off to a conference, or to a professional meeting, Whatever the reason, when you plan your syllabus or you know you'll be out for the day rather than cancel class consider calling for backup.  We'd love the opportunity to help.

In partnership with local employers,  the Center for Vocation and Integrative Learning (CVIL) staff, would like to offer faculty members programming for class during his/her absence. We offer 15 to 60-minute workshops for your classes -- even if you are present and would just like a program for the day. Please see the presentation topic list below and the list of our partner employers for class content ideas.

Class content ideas:


TypeFocus-assesses personality types and generates five customized reports, which help students understand themselves better so they can choose more effective career strategies. The self awareness report is based on the Myers-Briggs.
