Rich Krumme received his B.S. in Agricultural Journalism, with a minor in Economics, at The University of Missouri.
Krumme’s business career began at Texas A&M University as Assistant Editor. At Meredith Corporation he held the positions of Associate Editor, Managing Editor, Editor, Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Director, and at the time of his retirement, Krumme was Meredith’s General Manager.
Professional accomplishments include President of Agricultural Editors Association, Member of the Board of Directors of Country Music Association, and Chair of the Agricultural Committee of Des Moines Chamber of Commerce.
Honors and awards include Distinguished Alumnus – University of Missouri, Agricultural Journalism Writer of the Year (2 times), Oscar in Agriculture, Professional Improvement Award, and Agri Marketing National Award for Excellence.
Krumme created “Barn Again” (adopted by National Historic Trust Foundation) to save historic barns. He was one of three journalists to accompany the Secretary of Agriculture on around-the-world trade missions. He led farm groups on overseas tours to 40 countries.
Krumme and his wife own Quail Hollow Farms. They have three children and four grandchildren.
