Fall 2010 Foundations of Design Class
Referring to a photograph of a person, students completed three abstracted designs based on that photograph. The first design was to be a minimum abstraction of the photograph; a somewhat representational created with general areas of value and general shape structure. The second design was to be a further abstraction of the imagery. The third design was to be a complete non-representational abstraction using major shape and value components that operate on some of the basic design principles found in the original photograph.
