Fall 2006 Color Theory Class

For our final project in Color Theory each student was assigned two Simpson staff members who work together and share a common space. To complete the exercise students interviewed each of their clients, put together a color palette of about five colors that might represent the tastes of both clients, design or redesign a commonly shared space that employs the color palette, and design and paint a mock up of a painting that can hang in the newly designed space.

Two of the pairs are a married couples who both work at Simpson: Ken and Rita Birkenholtz and Gary and Jeanne Dooley and the space created for each of the couples is an invented residential space.

In the interview process, some of the questions asked included: What are your favorite foods?; What are some of your hobbies?; What kind of music do you prefer?; Where would you like to go for vacation if you could go anywhere in the world?; Is there a style of furniture or decorating style that you prefer?; What is your favorite color?
