The 2007 Simpson College Alumni Awards will be presented during the Alumni Recognition Luncheon on Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m. as a part of the Alumni Weekend celebration. We invite you to join us as we honor the 2007 award recipients including: Alumni Achievement Recipients - Susan Voss Lamb '75, Larry Ferger '56, John Lawlor '73, JoDee Winterhof '89; Humanitarian Service Award Recipients - Robert Crandall '67 and Dr. Hal '57 and Greta Stuart Bryan '57; and Recent Alumni Achievement Recipient - Nathanial Boulton '02. Professor of Biology Pat Singer will be honored with the Faculty Service Award for her 25 years of service to Simpson College. Congratulations to all of our award recipients!
SIFE team named Regional Champions
The Simpson College SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) team claimed the title of regional champion at the Minneapolis competition in April. They are one of 160 teams out of more than 1,000 in the United States to be invited to the National Competition which will take place this month in Dallas. SIFE is a student organization that teaches students how to run all aspects of a business.
Senior Art Show
Farnham Galleries is now displaying the final art show of 14 graduating seniors. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and will be shown until May 19. The galleries are located on the third floor of Mary Berry Hall.

Wednesday, May 2 - Omaha/Council Bluffs Red and Gold Reception - The 2007 Omaha/Council Bluffs area event will be held at the Field Club of Omaha, 3615 Woolworth Ave., Omaha, NE from 6-8 p.m. A full hors d'oeuvre buffet will be available along with soft drinks and a cash bar. Cost is $12 per person. Reservations are being accepted by the Simpson College Office of Alumni Relations.
Saturday, May 5 - Simpson Baseball Reunion - Event details include a morning golf outing at Countryside Golf Course in Norwalk, an afternoon of baseball at Simpson and a post-game party in the evening. Thursday, May 24 - Meredith Corporation Social - Our Meredith event will take placed at 3 p.m. in Locust North Board Dining Room. All Simpson College alumni who have connections to Meredith Corporation are encouraged to attend.

Simpson Symphonic Band
Under the direction of Mr. Jay Nugent ‘64 and featuring faculty saxophonist Dr. Dave Camwell, the band will be performing at the Iowa Bandmasters Conference on Thursday, May 10. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Fort Des Moines. It’s open to the general public and no admission will be charged.
Summer Camps at Simpson

The Summer Theatre Institute at Simpson offers camps for youth and high school students interested in theatre. The Institute for High School Students will be held July 29 - August 3 and the Institute for Youth will be held August 6-10. The Simpson College Department of Music offers two music festivals in June for school age students each summer. The Jazz Camp and the Orpheus Camp offer different experiences for the young musician.
