More than 450 alumni enjoy Alumni Weekend 2007
On June 22 and 23 more than 450 alumni and friends returned to campus for Alumni Weekend 2007. Events throughout the weekend included the Alumni Recognition Luncheon, the President’s Picnic, the dedication of the Dick and Nancy Buxton Tennis Complex and Class Reunions. Congratulations to all of our award recipients including Alumni Achievement Recipients Larry Ferger '56, John Lawlor '73, Susan Lamb Voss '75 and JoDee Winterhof '89; Humanitarian Service Award Recipients - Dr. Hal '57 and Greta Stuart Bryan '55 and Robert Crandall '67; and Recent Alumni Achievement Recipient Nate Boulton '02. Professor of Biology Pat Singer was honored with the Faculty Service Award for her 25 years of service to Simpson College.
Alumni Weekend 2008 will be held on June 20 and 21. We hope to see you there!
Alumni Awards Nominations
The Simpson College Alumni Awards recognize the work of our alumni, whether through dedication to Simpson College, significant career achievement or a dedication to helping others. Our alumni awards include the Alumni Achievement Award, Alumni Loyalty Award, Recent Alumni Achievement Award, Recent Alumni Loyalty Award and Humanitarian Service Award. Encourage students to take a look at Simpson College!
Simpson College is proud to participate in Iowa Private College Week August 6-10. Informational sessions for students interested in finding out more about the college search process will be held daily at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The schedule includes a tour of the campus, opportunities to meet faculty, students and coaches as well as learn more about admissions and financial assistance. Homecoming 2007
It’s Simpson vs. Central at Homecoming 2007 on Saturday, October 6. This year’s events include the Hall of Fame Brunch, the Tailgate Under the Tent, the All-Alumni Party and class reunions for the classes of 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2002. The office of alumni relations is currently recruiting volunteers to serve on the reunion host committees. If you are interested in finding out more about the responsibilities of the host committee, please contact the office of alumni relations by replying to this e-mail.
Upcoming Alumni Events
Wednesday, July 11 – Our Communications Data Services (CDS) corporate luncheon will take place on July 11 at noon in the 2nd floor large conference room (1901 Bell Avenue). All Simpson College alumni and current students who have connections to CDS are encouraged to attend.
Sunday, August 19 – All Minneapolis area alumni, current students, future students and parents are invited to the Minnesota Send-Off in Edina, Minnesota on Sunday, August 19 from 4-6 p.m. at Centennial Lakes Park in the Centrum Building on 7499 France Avenue South. This event allows Simpson alumni, current students and future students to have the opportunity to connect with one another and share their Simpson Experience. Invitations will be mailed out in July.
