Homecoming 2007 Re-cap!

football gameHomecoming 2007 was a resounding success! Alumni and friends gathered beneath the whispering maples to recall fond memories, connect with old friends and make new ones. Smiles and laughter at the stories told were soon followed by applause for our honored alumni. Shouts of encouragement filled the autumn air as the Red and the Gold played their hearts out against rival, Central, but were outscored 28-21.

The Storm continued to rage as the men's soccer team defeated Cornell 4-0. The women's volleyball team hosted the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle Tournament and posted a 3-2 win against Concordia Moorehead and a 3-0 loss to St. Thomas. Despite a valiant effort, the women's soccer team succumbed to Cornell 2-0.

alumniHopper was rockin' with the Post-Game Party for alumni, parents and friends. Milestone reunions were celebrated for the classes of 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2002. We look forward to continuing this new tradition.

Great Hall was filled with beautiful music in a very special concert honoring Anne Ogan Larson '67. Anne's life and work as a teacher were remembered in the performances of John Osborn '94, John Michael Moore '05, Nancy Hill '88, Kimm Julian '76, Thomas Gunther '06 and several others. At the same time, Theatre Simpson delighted audiences with its first performance of the year, Antigone.

Our Alumni-In-Residence Program was held on October 4th and 5th. We thank those alumni who returned to campus to share their career experience with a class. This was a great opportunity for our alumni to interact with the current students.

Mark your calendar for next year's Homecoming on October 25, 2008!
