Saturday, October 10th
Hall of Fame Brunch
9:30 a.m. in Great Hall

Join us as we honor the newest members of the Simpson College Athletic Hall of Fame, as well as this year’s Double S and Dick Buxton Award recipients. Michelle Mackie ’92, Chris Donohue '94, Adam Doll '99, Michelle Fowler '99, Kelly Schade Fry ’99 and Jeremy Whalen ’99 will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Denny Whalen ‘75 will be honored with the Dick Buxton Award while Eldon E. Huston ’54, Clark Ditzler '55 and Jason Jones ’93 will receive the Double S Award.

The 1969 Football Team will also be recognized for the 40th anniversary of their outstanding season and trip to the Mineral Water Bowl. Members of this winning team, members of the Hall of Fame, former athletes, past award recipients, alumni, parents and friends are all encouraged to attend this special event. Advance reservations are required. ($10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and children 5 & under are free.)

Two Tailgates
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for both

North of McNeill Hall on C Street - Kick your Simpson spirit into high gear at the original “Tailgate Under the Tent.” There will be plenty of food, fun and fans at our traditional tailgate. Join us for a pre-game meal at this family-friendly event. ($9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, children 5 & under are free.)

NEW! Hillman Hall Parking Lot - Young Alumni from 1994-2009 are invited pull up a chair at this informal gathering. We’ll provide buck hot dogs & you bring the rest. Table service will be available. Guests are encouraged to bring a side dish, beverage and a chair.

Tailgating is allowed before all home football games 2 hours prior and 2 hours after the game in the Hillman and Blank parking lots.

Little STORM Chasers
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in front of College Hall (Old Chapel)

Back by popular demand! We will have inflatables, face painting and plenty of fun for our younger fans. Weather permitting. (Free)

Greek Gatherings

Alpha Chi Omega will host a reception in the Craven Room on the third floor of Dunn Library from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. where treasured AXO memorabilia will be on display. Please RSVP to Kathy Nahkunst Bell ’81 at nahkunstbell@q.com or (515) 961-4436.

Alpha Tau Omega will announce new additions to the ATO Wall of Fame at their annual alumni meeting at 11 a.m. at the house. ATO alumni, family and friends are invited to lunch following the meeting.

Lambda Chi Alpha will be hosting its annual tailgate and BBQ. The chapter will throw open its doors at 10 a.m. for tours. A BBQ lunch will be served at 11 a.m. followed by their annual alumni meeting at 11:30. A brotherhood activity will take place after the game. Storm Football: Simpson vs. Central
1 p.m. at Bill Buxton Stadium

The Storm will defend last year’s overtime win and the Dutch are sure to arrive ready to play. The rivalry doesn’t get any better than this. Let’s fill the stands with red & gold and be loud, be proud! (Tickets may be purchased at the gate for $6 for adults and non-Simpson students without a school ID; $3 for non-Simpson students with a school ID or children in elementary school. Children 4 & under are admitted free.)

We request that members of the 1969 Football Team be present for recognition after the first quarter.  Award winners and inductees are asked to be present for a brief, half-time recognition.

Red & Gold Hospitality Tent
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Bill Buxton Stadium, west side near concessions

Be sure to stop by the Red & Gold Tent while you are at the game, hosted by the Simpson College Alumni Board of Directors. Face painting, give-aways, college schedules, event info - it’s one stop you won’t want to miss! Be sure to enter the free drawing for a chance to win great prizes!

Post-Game Party & Reunions
4 - 7:30 p.m. in Hopper Gymnasium

The Post-Game Party is becoming an annual favorite for all alumni, parents and friends. The party in Hopper Gym will begin immediately following the final buzzer. Live music by Brian Congdon, a full hors d'oeuvres buffet with complimentary soft drinks and a cash bar. Bring the kids! We’ll set up a supervised kid’s corner once again for some serious fun. ($5 per person, children 6-12 are $3 and children 5 & under are free.)

During the party, we’ll celebrate milestone class reunions for the Classes of 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2004. Not in these classes? This is still for you! Contact your classmates and make sure your Simpson friends meet you there. We will also host a reunion for the 1969 Football Team as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their outstanding season. Theatre Simpson Reunion "Work Call"
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Blank Performing Arts Center

Remember getting up early Saturday mornings for work call to build the set, hang lights, and sew costumes? This alumni "work call" will allow you to sleep late and then come relax and reminisce with fellow Theatre Simpson alumni from across the decades. Come meet the current faculty, see pictures from your past, and roam the hallways of a building where you spent time creating amazing theatrical performances and lasting memories. ($5 per person. Cash bar.)
