Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded only to full-time transfer students entering their first year at Simpson College. It is awarded to students possessing exceptional academic performance and success as evidenced by high school/previous college performance and success on the American College Test (ACT) and/or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). This scholarship is renewable at Simpson College with a cumulative GPA of 2.25 up to and including 61 completed hours. Above 61 completed hours, a cumulative GPA of 2.50 must be maintained.
Transfer Student Honor Scholarship
Exceptional transfer students who demonstrate high academic achievement and who plan to seek full-time enrollment at Simpson College may compete for this prestigious award. Applicants must have achieved a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, earned an AA degree or 61 transferable semester hours and demonstrate varied leadership experience. Award amounts vary. The renewal requirement is a cumulative GPA of 2.5 at Simpson.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Simpson College awards renewable scholarships to community college students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in the range of $7,000 to $10,000.
Applicants must be current members seeking full-time enrollment at Simpson College. To be considered for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, students must be admitted to Simpson College and submit the Phi Theta Kappa scholarship verification form. Phi Theta Kappa members may also be eligible for additional scholarships or grants. Transfer Student Achievement Scholarship
Outstanding transfer students with high academic achievement and significant extracurricular records who have earned an AA degree or 61 transferable semester hours may be eligible for this scholarship. Award amounts vary. To be considered for the Transfer Student Achievement Scholarship, students must be admitted as a full-time student to Simpson College.
George Washington Carver Fellowship
This scholarship is named in honor of George Washington Carver, who attended Simpson College. It is one of the most prestigious academic awards offered by Simpson College. The Carver Fellowship ranges from 3/4 to full tuition. Up to 25 full tuition Carver Fellowships will be awarded annually. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding freshman and transfer students from distinctive and broadly diverse backgrounds, who exhibit potential for leadership, evidence of service and contribution to community and superior academic achievement in secondary school. The Carver Fellowship is renewable with a Simpson GPA of 2.25 up to and including 61 completed hours. Above 61 completed hours, a cumulative 2.50 must be maintained.
George Washington Carver Scholarship
This scholarship is named in honor of George Washington Carver, who attended Simpson College. It is awarded to freshman and transfer students from distinctive and broadly diverse backgrounds who will help enrich the educational environment and bring multicultural perspectives to the campus community. The Carver Scholarship awards range from $11,000 to $15,000. This scholarship is renewable with a Simpson College cumulative GPA of 2.25.
Endowed Scholarship
High school and community college achievements are recognized through the Endowed Scholarship program. These scholarship funds are made possible through the generous financial support of alumni, trustees and friends of Simpson College. Many of these scholarships are designated for students with specific academic interests or backgrounds. Several of these awards are designated at the upper-class level.
The Matthew Simpson Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students entering Simpson College for the first time. This award is named in recognition of Bishop Matthew Simpson. Eligible candidates must hold membership in the United Methodist Church. Candidates must possess strong academic ability and potential as evidenced by previous college performance, high school performance and ACT or SAT scores. The student must demonstrate leadership qualities in both the community and the church. Award amounts vary.
Iowa Conference United Methodist Scholarship
Transfer students who are members of the United Methodist Church in the Iowa Conference may apply for the Iowa Conference United Methodist Scholarship to attend Simpson College provided the student did not receive the award at a previously attended United Methodist college. It is available only the first year they attend Simpson. Scholarship amounts vary annually. Applications are available through the local pastor, the Conference headquarters, or the office of financial assistance at Simpson College. Application deadline is February 15.
Art, Music & Theatre Scholarships
Transfer students are eligible to audition/apply for these talent scholarships. Awards in these areas are made to students on the basis of ability and academic promise. An audition for music and theatre scholarships or a portfolio for art scholarships is required of candidates for these awards. To be considered for an Art, Music or Theatre Scholarship, students must be admitted to Simpson College for full-time enrollment.
Alumni Scholarship
The alumni scholarship recognizes the dependent student whose mother or father attended Simpson College. An alumni grant of $1,000 per year will be made available to each dependent of an alumnus. The student must be enrolled full time to receive this award.
Simpson Recognition Scholarship
The Simpson Recognition Scholarship is awarded to full-time students who demonstrate strong academic ability and are entering Simpson for the first time. In order to qualify for this award, a student must have an ACT composite score of at least 23 or a combined SAT score from 1050 to 1130, and the student must rank in the top one-third of his or her high school class. This scholarship is designed to recognize the student with high academic potential who qualifies for no other Simpson gift assistance, therefore, it will not be awarded in addition to other Simpson financial assistance.
Roy J. Carver Scholarship Program
Carver awards are offered to full-time undergraduates with junior classification. Awards are availale to applicants with great potential and promise who have to work hard to make ends meet, or who are faced with debilitating circumstances in their lives. Selection is based on academic merit, potential in field of study, financial need, and the consideration of extenuating circumstances that present challenges to obtaining a degree. Awards are considered for renewal based upon meeting scholarship criteria.

Deadlines: Application and reference letters by April 1 (annually) and must submit FAFSA prior to March 1 (annually).
There are also other outside scholarships available to Simpson students.
