Favorite Simpson Memory: Traveling! I was able to take advantage of both May Term and the semester abroad programs. I spent three and a half months in London and that was the best decision I ever made! Being able to travel to several different countries through Simpson programs positively influenced my experiences as a student, changed my attitude towards the risks I was willing to take and allowed me to become more independent and to appreciate the rest of the world in a different way.
Favorite Simpson Tradition: The "Stand Around." The Sunday before classes start, and everyone is back on campus, you will find a majority of the students at the Stand Around-listening to music, eating food, drinking soda, playing different games, and possibly riding a mechanical bull! Everyone is excited to either see friends they hadn't seen over the summer, or to meet new friends. It is one of the first events of the school year and is a really exciting time for everyone!
Simpson Insider's Tip: Find the things that interest you, and get involved! Take advantage of the opportunities set before you, and meet new people. The days go too fast-fill them wisely!
"My favorite thing about Simpson is that you can tailor your experiences here to fit you specifically. The environment at Simpson cultivates growth and independence in an atmosphere where freedom of expression, intellect, and self are encouraged. For some, traveling is what sets their Simpson Experience apart, for others it is theatre or sports, music or art, campus activities or academics-the Simpson Experience allows students to find their passions, and to pursue them."
