Latino College Exposition - Chaperone Information

The 2009 Latino College Expo will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.  We will be able to accommodate up to 250 students.  Please invite those students, juniors and seniors only, who have shown leadership and would benefit from the day.  The Expo is a great event for Latino students, encouraging them to consider higher education and making them aware of the benefits of a college degree.

Please complete one of the registration forms for each student who will attend.  We would also appreciate a registration form for each instructor or chaperone.  We encourage one chaperone for each 10 students attending.  The registration deadline is November 9th.  Print as many copies as needed and return to Simpson College Admissions at 701 North C Street, Indianola, IA 50125. 

Check in and continental breakfast will be from 8 until 9 am in the lobby of Blank Performing Art Center.  All students are expected to use the transportation provided by the school district under the direct supervision of school officials.  The day will conclude at 1:45 p.m. allowing students to go home on their normal bus routes.  Lunch will be in Pfeiffer Dining Hall. 

Letters have been sent to the designated representative at your high school; please work together with others necessary to develop a list of qualified students to attend.  Any questions about the number of students attending from your school can be directed to Connie at the below contact information.  We recommend 20 students from your school with priority given to your senior students.  Simpson College can host up to 250 students for the event.  Please note for the academic portion of day the students will be joining Simpson students in their existing college classes.  Appropriate behavior is expected.  Also, please contact Connie for the proposed dress code.
