The State of Iowa administers a variety of programs designed to help Iowa resident college and university students attend the institutions of their choice. Some programs are based upon scholarship, and others are based upon individual need. Iowa Tuition Grant Program
The Iowa Tuition Grant is based on financial need, with priority given to the neediest applicants. The maximum grant is $4000 for each year of full-time undergraduate study (12 or more semester hours). The Iowa Tuition Grant is pro-rated to students who are attending less than full time.
To apply for an Iowa Tuition Grant, a student must be:

A resident of Iowa as defined by the State Board of Regents.

A United States citizen or residing in the United States on a permanent visa.

Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate program at an Iowa private college.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), must be at the processing center by July 1 in order to qualify for the Iowa Tuition Grant. Simpson College should be listed on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The Simpson College federal school code is 001887. SIMPSON COLLEGE WILL NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPLACING FUNDS SHOULD THE STUDENT MISS THE DEADLINE .
Iowa Grant Program
The Iowa Grant Program is a state wide need based program to assist high need Iowa residents attending any accredited Iowa college or university. Iowa Grant recipients will be selected by Simpson College based on financial need.
Education and Training Voucher Program
Iowa's Education and Training Voucher Program (ETV) provides grants of up to $5,000 per year to Iowa students who have been in Iowa foster care and who plan to attend or are currently attending eligible colleges or universities or approved training programs. The ETV program may assist with education-related expenses beyond tuition. Grants are renewable for education or training programs that extend beyond one year. Grants may be used for a range of career-training programs beyond traditional campus programs leading to academic degrees.

Iowa National Guard Educational Assistance Grants
This grant provides annual awards to Iowa National Guard members who attend eligible Iowa colleges and universities. Maximum individual awards cannot exceed the resident tuition rate at Iowa Regent Universities. For the 2008-2009 academic year, the average tuition rate for full-time students at Iowa Regent Universities is $6,420. The Iowa Adjutant General determines eligibility.
All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship
Students attending eligible Iowa colleges and universities may receive awards of up to $6,420* for the 2008-2009 academic year. Priority will be given to students who participated in the Federal TRIO Programs, graduated from alternative high schools, and to homeless youth.
Iowa Teacher Shortage Loan Forgiveness
The State of Iowa offers cancellation benefits to teachers. The maximum annual award is 20% of the teacher's total federal Stafford loan balance, including principal and interest, not to exceed the average resident tuition rate established for students attending universities governed by the Iowa Board of Regents for the first year following the recipient's graduation. For 2008 graduates, the maximum award is $6,420.
The All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant
The All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant (Opportunity Grant) is a state-funded program that will provide youth aging out of the Iowa foster care system with grant assistance to pay postsecondary education and training expenses. This Grant is designed to increase college access to youth in foster care. The Opportunity Grant is administered by the Iowa College Student Aid Commission.
