Favorite Simpson Memory: Although there isn’t just one memory that sticks out above the rest, the May Term experience I had in China was absolutely amazing.  We experienced so many aspects of the Chinese culture as well as toured the land, which was highlighted by a morning of photography atop the Yellow Mountains as the sun began to rise.

Favorite Simpson Tradition: Campus Day is by far my favorite tradition due to the opportunity we have to give back to the Indianola community, which does so much for the college. I remember many of the residents inviting us in from raking, or helping out in some way, to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or some home-made cookies.  You could tell you were really making a difference in these peoples’ lives!

Simpson Insider’s Tip: My tip begins with a parable:  There is a lion and a gazelle.  Each morning the lion wakes up knowing that it has to run faster than the slowest gazelle or he goes hungry.  The gazelle wakes up knowing it has to run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will be eaten.  The moral:  No matter if you are the lion, or the gazelle, you have to start each day running!  Here at Simpson College, the opportunities are endless.  Live each moment to the max and always wake up running.

“The Simpson Experience is powerful.  The combination of a caring community of faculty and staff, opportunities that range from internships to travel, a pertinent curriculum, and the people that surround you truly shape the lives of every Simpson College student.  Personally I arrived at Simpson a quiet boy, but graduated as a confident young man.  I owe every bit of this to the Simpson Experience.”
