Academic Support

Girls studying togetherSimpson offers guidance and academic support through programs provided by Hawley Academic Resource Center and Career Services.  The goal of these services is to help all Simpson students achieve success in their classes and future careers.

Hawley Academic Resource Center
The Hawley Academic Resource Center provides students with individualized help to meet the requirements for competencies and courses.  The Center also provides guidance at any point of the writing process (including revising and editing of portfolios), gives assistance for any math or foreign language course, and assigns tutors for most classes.  Students also have the opportunity to learn more about academic strategies for test taking, note taking, college reading and time and stress management.  All tutoring services available at Hawley are free to Simpson students.

Student Support Services
Targeted towards first generation college students or those with limited income or a documented disability, Student Support Services will help students reach their fullest potential by providing opportunities for academic development, assisting students with basic college requirements, and helping to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. Their staff and services will help students continue to take positive steps forward throughout their college career. Their main goal is for a student to be successful in college and even after they have graduated from Simpson.
