2008 Graduation Information and Schedule

Simpson College offers two baccalaureate degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music.

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts degree is awarded for 128 credit hours of academic work. Each student completes the Cornerstone Studies in the Liberal Arts, fulfills the requirements for at least one major, and satisfies competencies in writing, mathematics and foreign language. A grade point average of 2.0 or above is required, and a student completes one May Term course for each full year of matriculation. See the catalog for complete details.

Bachelor of Music Degree

The Bachelor of Music degree is awarded for 132 credit hours of academic work. Each student completes one course in each of the areas of the Cornerstone Studies in the Liberal Arts, fulfills the Music Performance course of study and satisfies competencies in writing, mathematics and foreign language. A grade point average of 2.0 or above is required, and a student completes one May Term course for each full year of matriculation. See the catalog for complete details.

Students who transfer to Simpson from other accredited four-year institutions must complete at least 32.0 hours at Simpson for a Bachelor of Arts Degree and 36.0 hours at Simpson for a Bachelor of Music Degree.

Students who transfer to Simpson from accredited two-year institutions must complete at least 64.0 hours at Simpson for a Bachelor of Arts Degree and 68.0 hours at Simpson for a Bachelor of Music Degree.
