SCANTRONS:
Thank you for your patience, and we need to beg for more; the Scantron evaluation sheets are not ready for printing yet.  Because of the switch from R17 to R18 programs, several programs have to be re-written.  Don German and Teresa Kreykes are valiantly trying to get this accomplished as fast as possible.  Once they’re printed, Becky Beaman and Shelly Priebe will make sure that a copy will be sent to each faculty member.  Division heads and department chairs will also receive copies of their members’ evaluations.  In the future, faculty should be able to receive their copies of Scantron evaluations 5-6 weeks after the end of each semester.

SYMPOSIUM:
“Recruiting, Retaining, and Advancing Faculty of Color symposium will be held April 12-14, 20076 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.  This symposium will focus on approaches for recruiting and advancing persons of color in academia; strategies that have been successfully employed to date; models for leadership to promote change; and strategies to empower faculty of color and transform institutional culture.  To view the program schedule and to register, visit www.dccce.umn.edu/KOF

MAY TERM ENRICHMENT GRANTS DEADLINE:
Proposals, including a brief description and rationale for the need, and the signature of the department chair, should be sent to the dean’s office by March 1, 2007.   A limited amount of funding ($100-200 per course) is available.  See http://www.simpson.edu/academicdean/resources/enrichmentgrants.html
