Self-Study Timeline

Self-Study Timeline “A” (reviewers visit in fall semester)

November (previous fall): The department chair/program coordinator meets with the Academic Dean to go over expectations, procedures, and budget, and creates a list of 6 – 8 possible outside reviewers to share with the Dean.  From this list, at least two will be chosen and dates set.

Early Spring semester: The department/program plans and holds a retreat and/or meetings.

March: After framing the main issues for the self-study, the department/program arranges a meeting with members of APRC to discuss them. (This meeting may occur earlier if the department/program prefers.) Data will be provided [by the Registrar's Office] to the department/program for the self-study.

March - July: The department/program completes the internal self-study document (Program Review) and gives copies to the Dean, the President, APRC, and the external reviewers at least two weeks before the reviewers' visit.

September:

The external reviewers visit campus, usually for two days.

October:


The Dean's Office receives the external reviewers' report and forwards it to the department and to APRC. The department/program includes with their self-study (program review) a summary of the External Reviewer's report and the department/program response to that report and submits it to the APRC.

November.

 

The department/program meets with APRC. APRC Provides verbal and written response to the department.

The Dean's office forwards the self-study, the external reviewers' report, the departmental/program response and the APRC response to the President and other members of the administration at the completion of the process.

 

Self-Study Timeline "B" (reviewers visit in spring semester)

September
